Held at Lily Lagoon Resort in Kununurra, overlooking the tranquil Lily Creek Lagoon, the Injiid Cultural Star Gazing Experience offers an unforgettable evening under the Kimberley night sky.

Guided by Aboriginal cultural storytellers, guests are invited to slow down, look up, and connect with one of the world’s oldest continuing knowledge systems. Aboriginal people are recognised as the world’s first astronomers, with star knowledge spanning more than 65,000 years. Through story, observation, and cultural insight, guests will learn how the stars have guided navigation, seasonal calendars, cultural responsibilities, and connections to the natural world.

This two‑hour experience blends astronomy, storytelling, and cultural education in a relaxed outdoor setting. The experience is designed to be welcoming and accessible for all guests, whether seated on chairs or woven mats provided for those who prefer to sit on the ground. Mosquito repellent is supplied for comfort.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early and look for the Injiid Star Gazing flag on the grassed area.

Food and drinks are available from Lily Lagoon Resort’s menu, which offers a great selection of meals and refreshments. Guests are welcome to order prior to the experience and bring their food and drinks with them to enjoy during the session.

This is a respectful, culturally guided experience that offers a deeper understanding of Aboriginal knowledge, connection to Country, and the night sky
